An American actor.
One of my favourite actors, Mark Ruffalo has already played various great characters and shown his talent. Today marks the first day of his new TV-series, I Know This Much Is True (HBO). Reason to check out what is known about it, and look back at his greatest roles.

The mini-series I Know This Much Is True is based on the novel by Wally Lamb (1998). It tells the story of identical twins, of whom one is suffering from paranoid schizophrenia. Mark Ruffalo plays both brothers - an unusual double role which has seldom been achieved. (Tom Hardy in Legend comes to mind, of course, who also played twin brothers.) The series is directed by acclaimed director Derek Cianfrance, known for his work with Ryan Gosling in Blue Valentine and The Place Beyond the Pines. First reviews praise Ruffalo's performance(s).
Looking back at Ruffalo's career, he has often played very intense or troubled characters. While he has already been nominated for an Oscar three times and also for 3 Golden Globes (for 5 different roles), he has yet to win one of the big awards. Since he has proven his talent time and again, but also enhanced his fame with a role in the Marvel universe (as the superhero Hulk in various films), chances are he will get many more great roles and garner some more accolades.
Some of my favourite with with Mark Ruffalo are:
*Dark Waters (2019)
*Spotlight (2015)
*The Normal Heart (2014) (TV)
*Foxcatcher (2014)
*Begin Again (2013)
*Shutter Island (2013)
*The Kids Are All Right (2010)
All highly recommended. His films as the Hulk of course as well, even if rather for entertainment reasons.
