The most recent film by writer and director Woody Allen (2019).
Having been a Woody Allen follower since I fell in love with movies, it's been difficult since allegations against him have surfaced. It's a lengthy discussion I've had with many people, but in this case, I follow the "in dubio pro reo"-principle. So I'm still watching his movies, even if some people have started boycotting them. The most recent one being A Rainy Day in New York.

This film brings together some fresh faces such as the wonderful Timothée Chalamet, Selena Gomez and Elle Fanning, which is quite a surprising and young lineup for an Allen movie. As always, it's an all-star cast with great actors such as Cherry Jones, Rebecca Hall, Live Schreiber and Jude Law making an appearance.
But the most important character of the film is New York, which is why I liked it more than expected. It is reminiscent of older Allen films such as Manhattan or Annie Hall. Chalamet, one of the most talented young actors in Hollywood, is a real New Yorker as well, and fits perfectly. He seems to be like a younger version of Allen's earlier, (slightly autobiographical) neurotic protagonists.
Worth watching, despite all the controversy.
